The medal ceremony for Albert Pemberton-Sheen formed part of the formal launch of the RAF Association’s new Wings Centre, on Fishergate, Preston, on Tuesday 6 June 2017. As well as Albert, guests of honour included the mayor of Preston and the secretary general of the Royal Air Forces Association.

Scotland’s Armed Forces children’s charity, RCET, works directly with young people from armed forces families and provides education support, including resources and training, to teachers and other professionals to help them recognise and deal with the anxieties, challenges and learning obstacles that some experience while at school.
Read moreA grant provided by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity to the Thistle Foundation, a health and wellbeing charity based in Scotland, will help Thistle to continue and further develop its work supporting veterans adjusting to civilian life.
Over the next 12 months, the grant will allow Thistle’s Veterans’ Programme to develop three strands of its work. The charity will provide 1-2-1 holistic case management for 10 Veterans.
Read moreFour new Camaraderie Clubs, run by the Royal Voluntary Service Lincolnshire, are set to open this year as a result of funding from The Royal British Legion.
The four new social clubs, known as Camaraderie Clubs, will see around 140 older veterans being offered the opportunity to attend a weekly club in a safe, friendly and open environment. Run by ex-service volunteers, with approximately 40 volunteers set to be in place, three clubs have already opened in Sleaford, Grantham and Coningsby, while one more is set to be established by the end of the year in Spalding.
