Heroes Drinks Company celebrates Asda listing

A social enterprise, which supports the armed forces, has secured the largest ever listing of its kind with a national supermarket.

Heroes Drinks Company, a spirit-producing social enterprise, is now stocking its premium British wheat grain vodka in selected Asda stores.

Consumers can be confident that when they purchase Heroes Vodka in one of the 350 stores they will be helping support worthy causes at the same time as Heroes Drink Company is pledging to donate a minimum of 20% of all profits to UK Armed Forces’ causes.

Sign up for SSAFA’s short breaks

SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity, has announced it is now taking bookings for this year’s Short Breaks weeks taking place on 28th May – 3rd June and 29th July – 4th August. The SSAFA Short Breaks offer new experiences and activities for children, young people and families from the Army community.

Each year, the UK’s oldest Armed Forces charity, SSAFA, offers two free week-long adventure breaks; The Siblings and Young Carer Break for children aged 8-12 only, and The Family Break for families with a child with an additional need or disability.

Iraq Afghanistan Memorial to be unveiled in London

Her Majesty The Queen will unveil a new memorial in Victoria Embankment Gardens, Westminster, at a service on Thursday 9 March

The memorial honours both the UK Armed Forces and civilians who served their country in the Gulf region, Iraq and Afghanistan, and who supported them back home, from 1990-2015.

These will be used as part of the on-going policy development for the FAM, which will combine the survey with other results (e.g. the single Service Families Federations’ surveys) and Focus Group findings to refine the accommodation offer based on your feedback.

A generous man from Jersey provides free holidays to current and former service men and women injured during their service.

Richard Woodhouse, along with his wife Dawn, is the founder of ‘Holidays for Heroes Jersey’, a charity providing free holidays to injured armed forces personnel and their families.
