More than 350 individuals including frontline service providers, academics, advocates, local, national and European policy-makers working in the homelessness and related sectors participated in the event held in the historic European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk.

Read moreArmed Forces Veterans have laid the first bricks at Stoll’s new development in Aldershot. Stoll, the leading provider of Veterans’ housing and support, is building 34 new homes for vulnerable and disabled Veterans to rent. The new homes are being built on the site of the former care home on the edge of a nature reserve in suburban Aldershot to address the housing shortage faced by the nation’s ex-Service men and women. The new homes will be available to rent from March 2018.

Read moreGreenwich Hospital and Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans are launching an exciting new partnership in the historic Naval town of Gosport, Hampshire, providing accommodation for homeless Seafaring Veterans. The new project, Greenwich House will become residence for up to 8 homeless and vulnerable Veterans at any one time, allowing those in need to gain the support that they so urgently need.
With the first residents due to move in in June, work is already underway to get the home ready. As well as a beautiful new home, each Veteran will be provided with support to help them access healthcare, gain budgeting skills, find training and employment opportunities, and prepare to manage their own accommodation independently again in the future.

Around seven members of staff from Alexander Mann Solutions offered CV writing and interview preparation to support Veterans into employment. Over 25 Veterans attended the day and found it extremely helpful.

Read moreLong term plans to turn a derelict cafe and warden’s house into eight 1-bedroom homes for single ex-Service persons in Morden, is progressing well on site. The homes will be in a U-shaped courtyard arrangement and be named “Parry Court”, after Mr John Parry, past Chairman of Haig Trustees from 2001 – 2005, and Trustee from 1992.
