SCIP Alliance – Engagement Manager

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

The University of Winchester welcomes applications from dynamic and forward-thinking candidates to join as an Engagement Manager for the Service Children’s Progression (SCiP) Alliance.

The Alliance is widely recognised by stakeholders, from those in the Westminster and devolved national governments to front-line practitioners in education and allied settings, as the UK-wide leader in the educational progression of the children of serving and ex-Armed forces personnel.

The SCiP Alliance Engagement Manager will grow the scale and depth of engagement of schools and other partners in the online Thriving Lives Toolkit, helping them to develop and continually enhance their support for Service children. The post-holder will also help develop and build engagement (including schools, colleges, universities, local authorities, charities and others) in a new online community platform and the suite of support available to allies throughout the Alliance Community.

The post-holder will support the SCiP Alliance Management Group’s work representing the community and organise opportunities for community consultation. This will involve representing and presenting for the Alliance at conferences, events and meetings.

The SCiP Alliance Engagement Manger will work to develop, launch and manage a new membership model, and lead on the development and management of a package of membership benefits to support the Alliance’s ambition to make subscriptions a core income stream.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Keen to take the initiative and make change happen by growing great relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and organisations in a large and complex community
  • Self-reliant, adaptable and creative, and energised by working flexibly in a team that cares about the change we achieve together not just our individual successes
  • Someone who values diverse partnership-working, asset-based approaches and making a difference for children and young people
  • Able to engage and influence change through excellent face-to-face and online communication skills and by developing compelling online content

For further details about the role and person specification, please see the job description.

The University particularly welcomes applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds for this post as they are under-represented in jobs at this level.  Please be assured that all applicants will be treated equally during the selection process.
