Scottish Government – Scottish Veterans Commissioner

The Scottish Government is recruiting for the next Scottish Veterans Commissioner. It is currently seeking applications from talented individuals who will be able to strongly advocate for and support the veterans community in Scotland. It welcomes applications from people with protected characteristics that are under-represented, such as women, disabled people, those from minority ethnic communities and people aged under 50.

The role of Veterans Commissioner is a crucial element in the Scottish approach to supporting its veterans. An impartial and independent appointment, the first Commissioner commenced work in 2014 and since that time great strides have been made in ensuring that veterans and Service leavers face no barrier to reintegrating fully into society. From identifying solutions to the problems in finding suitable employment, housing, education and health care, to working alongside partners within Scotland and the wider UK, the role offers a unique opportunity to support and advocate for our veterans and their families.

Further information about the role, remit and work of the current Commissioner can be found under the Home tab above. If you would like further details about the opportunity being advertised by the Scottish Government or would like an application pack, please contact: SVCRecruitment2022@gov.scot

The closing date for applications is at 23:59 on 5 April 2022.
