SSAFA

SSAFA – Branch Coordinator (Bristol)

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

£19,553.63 per annum pro rata
22.5 hours per week
Bristol
Fixed term contract for 18 months

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part-time Branch Coordinator at our Bristol and South Gloucestershire branch. SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, provides lifelong support to those who are serving or who have ever served in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force, and their families.  We have a network of trained volunteers in local communities in the UK and on military bases around the world.  This means that help and advice is always close at hand.

About the role

Based at the SSAFA office at HMS Flying Fox in Bristol you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the branch.  In this varied and rewarding role you will work closely with the branch Chair and other volunteers to support the local military community by being the first point of contact for SSAFA in Bristol and South Gloucestershire; managing referrals, allocating clients to volunteers and providing an effective support and administration service for the branch.

Requirements

To carry out this role successfully you will have a passion for working with volunteers and a commitment to volunteer-delivered services. Whilst a military background is not essential, an understanding of the issues faced by those who are or have served in the armed forces and their families would be an advantage.  Previous experience of working with volunteers and vulnerable people is preferred. SSAFA is looking for a resilient coordinator who can work with minimum supervision and has excellent IT, administration and communication skills.

SSAFA is an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
