SSAFA – Learning & Development Trainer (Maternity Cover)

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

£32,410 per annum

37.5 hours per week

Homebased in mainland Scotland

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a one year fixed term contract as a full time Learning & Development Trainer to join SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. Last year our teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 85,000 people in need, from Second World War veterans to young men and women who have served in more recent conflicts, and their families. SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. We are here for that person – any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and multi skilled Learning and Development Trainer to work as part of our team delivering training to our employees and volunteer network. Your role will involve working with the rest of the training team to design, develop and deliver our complete range of courses that will inspire our employees and volunteers to want to learn. You will consult and collaborate with internal departments to understand our work, identify appropriate content, design training interventions, deliver courses across Scotland and Ireland and evaluate the impact of the learning.

About the team

We are a small hard-working team, dispersed across the UK.  Although we have our own areas of responsibility, we collaborate on projects and support each other.  You’ll join us at an exciting time as we adapt our courses from classroom-based to blended learning.

About you

We are looking for an experienced trainer, ideally with a background working in the voluntary sector or similar, who is highly credible, engaging and with lots of enthusiasm to really bring our culture and values to life.

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of delivering standard training content and developing bespoke content as necessary.

You will be a committed team player with a highly collaborative style, and be able to demonstrate resilience and resourcefulness, along with being self-motivated and able to prioritise in a fast paced and changing organisation.

You will have knowledge and experience of the full training cycle. Experience of virtual training delivery is highly desirable.

SSAFA is an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
