Veterans on the start line of the Tour of Britain

On Sunday 5 September, the Tour of Britain cycle race set off from Penzance and on its way to Bodmin, it passed right by The Veterans’ Charity Hub at Gwinear Road.

Thanks to great support from the tour organisers, The Veterans’ Charity were able to put seven Veterans onto the start line where they set off ahead of the racers and completed almost 2 miles of stage 1. They were absolutely thrilled to be part of something so special and we are indebted to the Tour of Britain for helping The Veterans’ Charity to honour those who have served.

The Tour are also carrying one of our wreaths in their Race Director’s car which is travelling all the way to Aberdeen as part of our tribute to the fallen. They are hoping to organise a guard of honour of sorts for the wreath’s arrival at the end of the Tour.
