A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Regional Mentoring Coordinator in the Specialist Services Department at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate coordinator with the ability to manage and support SSAFA volunteer mentors within a 120-mile Radius of Manchester to cover the North West region of England.  This role is home based with extensive travel across the area of responsibility.

As a Regional Mentoring Coordinator, you will be required to monitor, support and review the mentoring relationships, provide feedback and update the Mentoring Service Manager with progress and developments.  The role will require you to coordinate the work of all volunteer mentors and provide support for training and seminars.

Requirements

To carry out this role successfully you will have a passion to work with volunteers and specialist staff.  You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to establish and maintain strong working relationships.  Experience of managing volunteers is also essential.  Knowledge of issues effecting service leavers, transition and Wounded Injured and Sick Personnel would be an advantage.
