The Army Families Federation (AFF) is the independent voice of Army families and works hard to improve the quality of life for Army families around the world – on any aspect that is affected by the Army lifestyle. These broadly fit into seven thematic areas:
- Accommodation
- Employment and Training
- Education and Childcare
- Health and Additional Needs
- Family Life
- Money and Allowances
- Support for Foreign & Commonwealth families
AFF is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered in England and Wales (1176393) and Scotland (SC048282).
The Board is looking to appoint two new Trustees to contribute to the governance and development of the organisation, and is particularly interested to hear from candidates from diverse backgrounds who have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Finance
- HR
- Marketing and Communications
Because we are recruiting two Trustees, any individual applicant would not be expected to cover all of these areas, but our aspiration is to recruit two Trustees to cover at least two of these areas, with the potential space for a third Trustee later in the year.
Strong empathy with Army families is an essential requirement. Whilst you do not need to have been an Army family; experience is welcome. Previous Board experience is not necessary, but an understanding of, or a willingness to train in, the principles of good governance in the charity sector is essential.
The newly appointed Trustees will support and offer their expertise and guidance in leading AFF as we build into our new strategic plan, overseen by our new CEO, appointed in December 2020.
