***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust is recruiting a Grants Manager with experience of managing capital funding programmes to work as part of a small team. The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust is a grant making charity which supports the Armed Forces Covenant by funding projects which address specific priorities.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust which is committed to learning from and sharing the achievements of its grant holders and the impact of its funding programmes. You will join the Trust’s Grants team and be responsible for all elements of grant management for new capital funding programmes to be launched this year, and also to support and advise colleagues in their management of awards for building and refurbishment under a variety of other programmes.
Recent experience of assessing, managing and monitoring capital grant programmes is essential. This might include funding for new build and for refurbishment projects, small and large (up to £1M). Personal knowledge or experience of the armed forces would be an advantage, as would experience or understanding of the homelessness sector. The successful candidate will have an interest in, and commitment to, the difference that charities can make.
The Trust welcomes applications from across the UK. This is a home working role and applicants will be expected to be able to confirm that they are able to work in this way (IT and any essential equipment will be provided.) It is anticipated that the post holder will be required to undertake some site visits as part of their duties, and these could be anywhere in the UK. These are unlikely to be required during the first year and in line with the Trust’s policy should only be when deemed necessary; as such a proven ability to manage large grants remotely would be useful. Attendance at occasional meetings or awaydays will also be expected – these could be in London or elsewhere in the UK.
Salary £33,000-£42,000 per annum dependent on experience. 30 days leave, 8% employer pension contribution. This is a full time, permanent position.
The Trust is committed to being an equal opportunities employer and to providing development and training opportunities.
How to apply: Applications should take the form of a letter (no more than two pages of A4) providing evidence of how you meet the person specification, and CV – both attached to an email addressed to info@covenantfund.org.uk giving the contact details for two professional referees, and how you know them. Please include ‘Job Application’ and specify the role you are applying for in the subject line. Please also confirm when you would expect to be able to start if your application is successful.
Timetable:
Deadline for applications is 9am Monday 15 May 2023
- Shortlisted candidates will be advised soon after the deadline
- First interviews are expected to be held early in week commencing 22 May and will be by video call
- If shortlisted, you will be asked to complete a short assessment ahead of the interview, which will be discussed during the interview itself.
