Army Families Federation – Enquiries Team Member

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

Would you like to be part of a friendly and supportive team that works to support Army families?  Why not apply to become the next member of our Enquiries Team?  As part of a team of three you will be the first point of contact for the Army families we support, offering immediate advice and signposting to the appropriate sources of information. If you have an understanding and knowledge of Army life and the challenges families face, with good listening and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a remote team, then AFF needs you!

About the role

You’ll be the first point of contact for Army families seeking advice and support on issues that affect them as a result of having a soldier in their family.  You will provide immediate advice and/or signposting to help them access the appropriate support from our own specialists, or from other service providers. As we increase our virtual presence you will also be responsible for elements of AFF’s social media engagement, primarily through Army families’ Facebook groups.

AFF employs an Enquiries Team with operating hours to meet the needs of Army families. Although currently our telephone lines are open on reduced hours, once this role is recruited, we will again be open 0800-1800 Mon-Thurs and 0800-1500 Fri.

Your core hours will be 25 hours per week, worked as follows on a two- week rotation:

Week 1: 8:00am-13:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am-11:00am Friday

Week 2: 13:00pm-18:30pm Monday to Thursday and 12:00pm-15:00pm Friday. On occasion you may be required to work additional hours to cover absence and leave periods.

The role is home-based (UK only). Unfortunately, due to the difficulties obtaining employer’s liability insurance overseas, it is not possible to offer this role to a candidate based outside the UK.

About you

You’ll have an understanding and current knowledge of Army life and its impact on families, with the ability to work effectively within your small team, but also across the organisation; developing relationships that support your role and others internally. You will have the enthusiasm and motivation to achieve results for Army families, with good listening and interpersonal skills, and some experience of working as part of a remote team.

A full list of the skills and experience we are looking for, can be found in the Job Description.

AFF welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
