Army Families Federation – Office Support Assistant (Part-time)

Would you like to be part of a professional, friendly team that works to support Army personnel and families? We listen to what they have to say and provide information and guidance that supports all aspects of Service family life – from housing to childcare and schooling, from healthcare to employment and training – both in the UK and overseas. And, as an independent charity, we work hard to make sure that the voice of the Army family is heard by policy makers and service providers. If you have a keen interest in the quality of life of Army families and are looking for a flexible role in a friendly, but focused, organisation, we would love to receive your application.

About the role

You will provide temporary professional assistance to our AFF Office Support Team to cover a period of maternity leave.  This is an exciting role for a talented Administrator who is looking for a new challenge and wants to join a fast-paced, high-performing team. The role is primarily administrative but includes providing support to the Business Support Manager.

The post is part-time, 25 – 30 hours per week to be worked Monday – Friday within normal office hours. FTE salary is £23k – £24.5k per annum depending on experience.

This is an office-based role and you will need to work in our Central Office in Andover on Mondays and Wednesdays. The remainder of your working days will be worked from home.

Unfortunately, due to the difficulties obtaining employer’s liability insurance overseas, it is not possible to offer this role to a candidate based outside the UK.

This post is a fixed-term 12-month maternity cover contract.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge and experience of using the Microsoft Office package, great organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to spot numerical errors, as well as confidence in troubleshooting basic IT issues and interest in developing further skills in this area.

All our staff have an understanding and current knowledge of Army life and its impact on families, and a keen interest in the welfare and quality of life for Army families.

A full list of the skills and experience we are looking for can be found in the Job Description.

AFF encourages applications from all sections of the community.
