Working as BFBS Forces News’ Reporter in Akrotiri, Cyprus offers the chance work in one of the busiest overseas locations for UK personnel.

There is a sizeable Army and RAF presence within the Sovereign Base Areas, with regular visits by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Op Shader continues to be the UK’s contribution to the fight against IS, but there is far more to working in Cyprus, with regular international exercises to cover as well as the day-to-day operations and work of those deployed there.

You’ll have a key role liaising with British Forces Cyprus media and senior leadership as well as the media officers for the bases, regiments and units on island.

Working alongside colleagues in BFBS Radio and Technology you will be a brand ambassador for BFBS, ensuring all are aware of our work and the services BFBS offers.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who is an excellent communicator and willing to push boundaries of creativity in how we capture content and share the stories of the UK military in Cyprus.

This will be a two-year posting and you will be required to undergo a medical and complete security clearance before deploying. Accommodation and allowances will be discussed upon application.
