The Media Technician and Lecturer is a key role in the BFBS Academy and is responsible for the day to day running of all Academy resources and facilities, including Training studio production, editing, camera, audio, and lighting equipment.
Working at the BFBS Academy, working closely with BFBS’s Technology department, and reporting into the Head of BFBS Academy, you will ensure that equipment is maintained and made available in a timely manner.
The Media Technician and Lecturer will provide first line support for equipment and software problems experienced by the teaching staff and students alike.
The Media Technician and Lecturer will routinely be available to the students and act as a technical instructor on equipment and software. Close engagement and relationship with students will enable the staff member to have a mentoring and advisory role.
They will have a thorough understanding of non-linear file-based production workflows and any experience of working with a green screen studio and associated technologies will be an advantage.
The Media Technician and Lecturer will have a good understanding and knowledge of the equipment and software deployed both within the academy and the broader BFBS business and therefore able to offer support accordingly.
The Media Technician and Lecturer will be expected to stay well-informed of changing media production technologies and advise and recommend changes accordingly.
