Mike Armstrong is back on the trails once again, taking on another inspiring fundraising walk in support of Blesma.
The 64-year-old above-knee amputee began his challenge in April, setting off from St Bees on the Cumbrian coast. His goal is to complete the iconic 193-mile coast-to-coast route—stretching through the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales—before reaching Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire.
“I will be doing it in stages throughout the summer,” said Mike, an Associate Member who served with the King’s Own Royal Border Regiment TA. “I started on 07 April, and the aim is to complete the final section in late August.”
Depending on the terrain, Mike plans to cover between seven and 12 miles per day. He is accompanied on the journey by his partner Sandra, who recently completed her term as Mayor of Wigton, Cumbria.
Mike’s determination and community spirit continue to inspire and raise vital funds for fellow veterans.
