We’re Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives regardless of how or when they lost their sight. Founded in 1915, by Sir Arthur Pearson, to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have supported those blinded in subsequent wars and military engagements, including the Second World War, and more recently, the conflicts in the Faulklands, Iraq and Afghanistan.

We are currently seeking an Equipment Delivery & Installation Technician to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As an Equipment Delivery & Installation Technician, you will deliver, install and provide specialist training on vision impairment rehabilitation equipment for our members.

Contacting members, you will arrange and confirm home visits, plan routes and overnight stays and complete postal duties, including picking, packing, logging information on systems and completing administration duties.

You will also complete equipment troubleshooting callbacks to members who report faults.

Additionally, you will:

– Promote our recycling service to colleagues in other areas of the charity
– Provide equipment demonstrations, Q&As and training to colleagues
– Establish relationships with external organisations

About You

To be considered as an Equipment Delivery & Installation Technician, you will need:

– Experience working within a customer service focused role with direct customer contact
– Confidence in demonstrating and training members to use technology equipment
– A full, valid driving licence

We will provide you with full, comprehensive training on vision impairment and assistive technology.
