Blind Veterans UK – Hospitality Team Member

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

Rustington

Most of us grow up with 5 senses and can’t imagine what it’s like to lose any one of those.

For some ex-service people, this is their reality. Suddenly their whole way of life is changed, even walking to the shops becomes a huge task.

Fortunately, Blind Veterans are here to help rebuild their lives. But they can’t do it alone.

This is where you come in.

You’ll be a key member of our Hospitality Team, focused on delivering a high-quality customer experience for our veterans, visitors and customers. You’ll do this by ensuring an effective and seamless check-in and check-out service.

You’ll maintain an accurate record of invoices and collect payments, so you’ll need to be comfortable with numbers. You’ll also need to follow up on unpaid accounts and any payment queries.

You’ll operate the main switchboard, so you’ll often be the first point of contact for veterans and visitors, so it goes without saying you’ll need excellent customer care skills and a comfortable telephone manner. You’ll respond to plenty of email queries too, so you’ll need some basic IT skills and good written English skills.

This is a full-time role operating on a rolling rota with Team Members working 37.5hrs per week on a pattern of 4 on and 4 off. An example shift could be 6am – 4pm.

We offer:

– Salary of £25,307 per annum
– Unsociable Hours Allowance
– 25 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays
– Between 6-8% pension contribution
– Life Assurance
– Employee Assistance Programme
– Enhanced Parental Package
– Holiday Buying Scheme
– Retail Discounts
– Cycle to Work Scheme

Blind Veterans UK helps vision-impaired ex-service people of every generation rebuild their lives after sight loss. We help blind ex-service people lead independent and fulfilling lives by supporting them with our in-depth expertise, experience and full range of services.

This position is subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Checks.

We are only able to accept applications from candidates who are located in and eligible to work within the UK. We are unable to provide any type of Visa sponsorship.
