Blind Veterans UK is the national charity helping visually impaired ex-Service men and women lead independent and fulfilling lives.  We offer blind veterans access to the highest quality of services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.

We are looking for an experienced event organiser who will be able to manage the delivery of a scheduled programme of events for our members, many of whom are elderly and have challenged mobility and all of whom have severe sight loss or are totally blind.  You will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering the annual Cenotaph event including the Sir Arthur Pearson memorial service, Saturday evening event and dinner, Cenotaph March, formal Sunday lunch and Service of Remembrance.

The number of veterans we help is increasing rapidly as we implement our overall strategy to embed a national footprint and take our exceptional services to the beneficiary.

You will work collaboratively within a team at our head office and have regular liaison with other staff located at offices around the United Kingdom.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has managed invitation lists, accommodation and travel bookings for people with various physical and mobility challenges.  They will be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of our members, have exceptional organisational skills, pay meticulous attention to detail and committed to delivery on time and within budget.  Experience working with elderly or disabled people will be an advantage as would some knowledge of the world of vision impairment.
