Blind Veterans UK

Blind Veterans UK – Night Concierge (Part-Time)

Most of us grow up with 5 senses and can’t imagine what it’s like to lose any one of those.

For some ex-service people, this is their reality. Suddenly their whole way of life is changed, even walking to the shops becomes a huge task.

Fortunately, Blind Veterans are here to help rebuild their lives. But they can’t do it alone.

This is where you come in.

You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with anyone in a professional and courteous manner. You’ll ensure our new Rustington facility is safe and secure during the night time, supporting residents during their stay and ensuring peace of mind for everyone.

You’ll work alongside the Booking & Admin Co-ordinator to ensure the safe, efficient and smooth running of the Rustington Centre of Wellbeing. You’ll ensure the delivery of a consistently high-quality customer experience for our members, other visitors and customers.

You’ll act as a key point of contact, ensuring the safety of the building, and you’ll be working with all our safety and security systems, including patrols of the property. You’ll also support a range of administrative tasks, including updating the HR information system, handling mail and deliveries and liaising with other departments.

Your customer care skills will be second-to-none and you’ll possess an excellent telephone manner coupled with a self-starting attitude and a proactive focus on problem solving.

You’ll have knowledge of Health & Safety, be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths and have a decent level of IT literacy, especially with Microsoft Office programmes, database systems and intranet.
