Two teammates from the Saltdean Tigers are to become the youngest participants in a 10-mile fundraising walk and are encouraging their community to sign up and join them.
Jesse Skinner and Reuben Chatfield, both 7-years-old and from Saltdean, will be taking part in Blind Veterans UK’s ‘March for Veterans’ walk along the Brighton seafront.
The year 2 pupils are following in the footsteps of Jesse’s older brother Seb, who took part in last year’s walk, raising over £700 for Blind Veterans UK.
Jesse says:
“I’ve seen the amazing work the charity does through my dad’s job so it’s a great feeling to be doing something to help them. I’m going all out to beat my older brother’s time and I’m sure I’ll do it!”
Reuben says:
“We’re both super excited to take part in our first fundraising walk and raise money for a good cause. Come join us on March 28 and try and beat us to the finish line!”
Jesse’s dad, Dan Skinner, Facilities Lead at Blind Veterans UK, says:
“It’s great to see Jesse and Reuben take on a challenge for charity and give something back to the community at such a young age. Safe to say I’m very proud of them.”

March for Veterans Brighton kicks off at 10am on March 28 with the exciting ten mile route hugging the Brighton coastline before finishing at Blind Veterans UK’s iconic rehabilitation centre, custom build for the charity in 1938.
