Read moreOn Saturday 18 November, the Worthing-based charity, Care for Veterans, held its second annual Glitter Ball at the Hilton Avisford Park Hotel in Arundel, and raised just under £14,000 for the disabled veterans who it cares for.
The 160 guests in attendance were welcomed with a drinks reception and were wowed by card tricks from magician, Harvey Woods. Then it was into the Grand Hall for dinner. Here, guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal, before everyone got on the dancefloor to dance the night away to the fantastic local band, The Alternatives!

The holidays, which are provided to all Scotty’s Little Soldiers members as part of its Smiles programme, are an integral part of the charity’s support network. They allow families time to spend together and help them create new, happy memories.
During 2017, 185 members enjoyed a weekend at one of Scotty’s six premium lodges located in Great Yarmouth, Berwick Upon Tweed, Blackpool, Exmouth, Hastings and Poole.

Carl Marsh, of Llantwit Major, South Wales has launched a celebrity interview website and a swimming instruction business thanks to support from the military charity.
He left the Army in 2010 after 12 years of service and one tour in Northern Ireland before he suffered a spinal injury and seven other health related issues which lead to him being medically discharged.

This grant will enable the Fund to respond to the needs of the serving RAF and their families by providing additional facilities and services on RAF stations to enable greater social engagement, better relationships and the provision of welfare facilities.
The Government’s decision was announced today during the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s autumn budget statement in the House of Commons.

In recognition of where the Aged Veterans fund originates from we are honoured to have the national Chairman of British Nuclear Test Veterans Association to give a talk on the Christmas Island nuclear bomb tests in 1950’s and 60’s and on their on-going support to the Veterans who were affected by the tests.

Sir Andrew was commissioned into the Royal Air Force in 1977 and after flying training, joined No 72 Squadron, flying Wessex helicopters. During his distinguished career he flew over 5,000 hours on both Wessex and Chinook helicopters. In addition to the UK and Germany, he saw operational service in Northern Ireland, the Falkland Islands, Lebanon, the Balkans and the Gulf. He also completed exchange tours with the Royal Navy’s Commando Helicopter Force and the Royal Australian Air Force.
