This summer, Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) will proudly mark its 106th birthday with a celebratory Tommy Tea in the Garden of Honour at its historic Village in Aylesford. The event will gather residents, staff, supporters, and distinguished guests, including mayors and members of the House of Lords, in a tribute to more than a century of resilience, service, and community.
Established in 1919 to help injured ex-servicemen returning from the First World War, RBLI has since evolved into one of the UK’s leading veterans’ charities, providing vital accommodation, employment, and welfare services in Kent and across the UK.
RBLI builds and provides homes for veterans and their families, creating a stable foundation for independent living. Its award-winning social enterprises employ more than 100 veterans and people with disabilities, offering meaningful work and long-term stability through dignified jobs.
Through its nationally renowned LifeWorks programme, a free, tailored employment support service, RBLI helps veterans and their families overcome barriers to work. Delivered by veterans for veterans, LifeWorks offers vocational assessments, CV writing, interview preparation, and confidence-building courses, empowering thousands to secure lasting employment, training, or volunteering opportunities.
As the charity enters its 107th year, it remains committed to helping those who’ve served.
