At this time of year thoughts tend towards honouring those who gave their life for their country. Chelsea Chamber Choir (CCC) would like also to remember those veterans and currently serving personnel who may be experiencing hardship, by running a concert to raise funds for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
Oliver Lallemant, the CCC’s Musical Director said:
“The CCC is a group of non-professional singers, who raise money for worthy local and national causes.”
Olly is a gifted professional musician who runs several choirs and is also a jazz pianist at the Ritz.
Colin Wyver, CCC blah said:
“Chelsea Chamber Choir is delighted to support a military charity, especially at this time of year. We chose SSAFA because it embraces all three services.”
Richard French, SSAFA Fundraising Officer and veteran said:
“Olly and Colin really understand the need for community support for veterans and serving people. SSAFA has volunteers on the ground who can really make a difference to local veteran’s lives and who also support the serving men and women based in London.”
The concert, which will feature Schmann’s Requiem and Faure’s Pavane is to be held at Christ Church, Chelsea, SW3 4AA on 12 November at 5pm.
Entry is free and all are welcome.
