Before discussing the Business Plan, I want to take us back to the Consultation Exercise that the Cobseo team conducted in 2025. Our aim was always to step into 2026 with vision, ambition, and energy shaped by well-informed plans. As a team, we recognised that understanding our Members and their needs would be at the heart of this. The results of what was a six-month process of engagement are at:

It’s well worth a read. And in the sense of a ‘you said, we did’ process, we have drawn heavily on your feedback to inform our focus, our priorities, and our business activity.

The next step was to produce a Business Plan. Drawing on your collective comments, it has also been crafted with ongoing input and feedback from the Finance, Audit, & Risk Committee, the Executive Committee (FARC), and the office team.

We took the Plan in draft format to the 2025 Autumn FARC and EC meetings. The EC subsequently approved the Plan – and the associated Budget – in December.

In launching the Plan, the team and I are patently aware that this by no means ‘job done’. The hard graft starts here! We will continue to develop and implement specific programmes of change, to define measurements of success, and determine impact. Communicating what we are doing is key to this process.

Hold me personally to account for this and reach out if you feel you need more information.
