Combat Stress awarded Accreditation by the Royal College of Psychiatrists

Combat Stress is proud to announce that it has been reaccredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Quality Network for Veterans Mental Health Services (QNVMHS), reaffirming the charity’s long-standing commitment to delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based mental health services for former servicemen and women.

The QNVMHS brings together veteran services across the UK in a spirit of collaboration, acting as both a “critical friend” and a forum for sharing best practice. Accreditation is a meaningful kitemark of quality, recognising services that consistently demonstrate safe, effective and compassionate care. As a CQC‑regulated provider operating to the highest standards of governance, safety and clinical quality, Combat Stress plays an important role in supporting excellence across the wider veteran mental‑health sector. This reaccreditation reflects not only the robustness of our own practice, but also our ongoing contribution to the development and strengthening of sector-wide quality expectations.

As the Quality Network regularly reviews and updates its standards, reaccreditation requires services to demonstrate that they continue to meet increasingly rigorous expectations. This achievement therefore reflects our commitment not only to maintaining but to continually improving the quality of care we provide to veterans, and reflects the dedication, expertise and compassion of our clinical teams across the UK.

Dr Lee Robinson, Acting Clinical Director at Combat Stress, said:

We are delighted to receive this accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. It is a testament to the hard work, professionalism and commitment of our staff, who go above and beyond every day to ensure veterans receive safe, effective and life‑changing mental health care. This recognition not only validates the quality of our services but also strengthens our drive to continually improve and innovate for the veterans who rely on us.”

The accreditation is awarded for a three‑year period, with a scheduled interim review to ensure standards continue to be met. Combat Stress will use the insights from this process to further enhance the care and support it provides to veterans living with trauma-related mental health difficulties.

For over 100 years, Combat Stress has been the UK’s leading provider of specialist treatment for trauma‑related mental health conditions linked to military service. While our core expertise is in conditions such as PTSD, complex PTSD, moral injury and military sexual trauma, we also provide comprehensive assessments and support to veterans experiencing a broader range of psychological difficulties, helping them understand the nature of their symptoms and access the most appropriate care.
