It advises organisations on how to improve fairness for the Armed Forces community in the consumer market and encourages Forces-friendly HR policies. It supports employers across the UK to recruit and retain those from the Armed Forces community so that business can access the transferable skills which Reservists and ex-forces personnel bring to the civilian workplace.
About the Job
The Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communications and engagement plans supporting DRM objectives. This individual will work closely with a range of stakeholders, including businesses, non-profit organisations, and government agencies, to ensure that messaging is aligned and consistent across all channels.
We are looking for candidates who have experience working in fast-paced environments with complex stakeholder needs and expectations. Strong communication skills and the ability to leverage various channels and approaches to effectively reach and engage audiences are essential.

The Role:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key Ministry of Defence and service charity stakeholders.
- Publicising the details of new initiatives being rolled out by the government, within the private sector, and by charities.
- Provide the opportunity for business members to publicise the work that they are undertaking in support of Veterans, and the value that they are obtaining from it.
- Manage digital platforms to provide multi-channel promotion for potential signatories and Veterans / Reservists looking for employment.
The Person:
- Strong track record of designing and delivering successful and innovative communications, campaigns and digital content.
- Skilled communicator with an ability to project manage from start to finish.
- Experience managing multiple cross channel communications deliverables to a tight deadline.
- Experience working with external stakeholders to deliver collaborative communications outputs.
The holiday entitlement is 25 days annual leave on entry (previous HM Armed Forces service and previous service in the Public Sector may attract additional entitlement) plus public holidays.
