Job Role:
Project Nova is a specialist programme developed to support veterans in the Justice System who may be vulnerable, socially isolated, or need support to live or maintain a law-abiding life.
This a homebased, full time 35 hours per week position with a salary of £28,325, reporting to the Nova National Manager, to provide information and support to family or carers of vulnerable veterans
Principal Responsibilities:
- Receive referral, contact within 48 hours of allocation
- Undertake needs assessment and identify needs and support required
- Prioritise high risk cases and provide a proactive, short to medium term crisis intervention services invoking safeguarding referrals where necessary.
- Maintain monthly contact with beneficiary to ensure successful onward referral for 3 months post engagement.
- Carry out an assessment using the Families Outcome Star, understand and record support needs.
- Review assessments following 3-month interval to understand and demonstrate progress.
- Work with and empower client to engage with the support plan and goals agreed during their needs assessment
- Ensure that all activity is recorded on Salesforce case management system (CMS) and ensure confidentiality is always complied with.
- Work within multi-agency frameworks to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse engaging in MAPPA process, safeguarding meetings and any other appointments as required.
- Collaboration with Communications team to develop resources to assist families and careers and inform the wider network
Person Specification
Essential Competencies
- Highly motivated and independent, capable of working remotely across a wide geographical area.
- Experience of putting into practice the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
- Ability to build rapport with beneficiary and empower to engage with local services
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working with people using a mentoring or coaching approach to engage and support the individuals we work with.
- Commitment to working with each client without prejudice and in an equitable manner
Desirable Competencies
- Knowledge of the Armed Forces community.
- Experience of completing risk assessment and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
- Experience of safeguarding issues and legislation and working with confidential and sensitive data with clients and partners.
- Familiarity with – MAPPA, MARAC and Child in Need working processes.

Successful candidates will require an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (EDBS)
