Give Us Time takes holiday accommodation donated by owners of holiday groups, hotels, holiday homes and timeshares and matches them with military families in need of rest, rehabilitation and reconnection after long periods of separation. We help service families reconnect and provide them with the chance to spend time together and to reaffirm their family bond especially where illness, injury or bereavement is a factor.
Give Us Time is seeking a Volunteer/Intern to help us run our small charity. The position will mainly involve helping us organise our annual fundraising event. There will be also some monitoring of our media platforms involved, including helping to produce and publish content such as videos, photos, tweets and updates. Some administrative duties may be required as well as researches.
This role offers a great opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to gain experience in the non-profit sector and have a behind the scenes insight into how to organise a fundraising event from start to finish, including experiencing the running on the day.
• An enthusiastic hard worker, keen to get stuck in and help out wherever they can
• The ability to work with computers and social media platforms
• Experience of voluntary work/not for profit sector is an advantage but not essential
• Eligible to work in the UK is required
• Awareness of issues facing service personnel and families is an advantage
• Proactive and keen to make a difference
A part-time post with hours to suit the successful applicant.
Starting as soon as possible and finishing mid November 2018 with the possibility of prolonging.
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
