Greenwich Hospital awards £20,000 grant to Rock2Recovery to support the Royal Navy community with one-to-one coaching

Rock2Recovery, a Community Interest Company promoting the good mental health of the Armed Forces community, will receive a £20,000 grant from Greenwich Hospital to continue delivering one-to-one coaching for former and serving Royal Navy personnel and their families across the UK.

The grant will directly contribute to Rock2Recovery’s mission of helping individuals improve their emotional wellbeing by shifting their mindset and approach to life.

Since its founding in 2015, the organisation has provided personalised coaching to over 500 former and serving Royal Navy personnel and their families, demonstrating the significant and ongoing demand for this service.

Rock2Recovery focuses on two key objectives:

  • Preserving the lives of distressed service personnel, veterans, and their families by connecting them with appropriate mental health professionals for both emergency and routine support.
  • Inspiring and motivating individuals toward a better future through the power of creativity and mindset transformation.

This one-year grant from Greenwich Hospital underscores the importance of sustained, tailored mental health support for the Royal Navy community and highlights the significant role Rock2Recovery plays in their wellbeing journey alongside therapeutic services.

Rose Atkinson-Park, Benevolence and Welfare Grants Manager, Greenwich Hospital, said:

“Rock2Recovery plays a crucial role in helping Royal Navy personnel and their families develop mental resilience during challenging times.  Their one-to-one coaching offers a lifeline to those navigating mental health challenges, and we believe this funding will make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of the Royal Navy community.”

Brigadier Charlie Hobson OBE (Retd), Company Officer, Rock 2 Recovery, said:

“This funding ensures that Rock2Recovery can deliver more coaching sessions to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Without this vital support, we risk falling short in providing timely, preventative care to those who need it most.”
