Greenwich Hospital funds Naval Review memberships for emerging Royal Navy Leaders

Greenwich Hospital has awarded a grant of £18,000 to The Naval Review to support the professional development of the Royal Navy’s future leaders. This funding will cover first-year membership subscriptions for 750 individuals, including junior officers, selected senior ratings, Royal Marines, and reservists.

The Naval Review offers a two-fold professional resource:

  • A digital learning platform featuring peer-reviewed research, current affairs, and naval-focused articles, alongside interactive forums for professional discourse.
  • A quarterly journal delivering in-depth content on naval strategy, operations, administration, command, education, history, and discipline.

This funding initiative aligns with Greenwich Hospital’s on-going commitment to the education and professional growth of Royal Navy personnel. By enabling access to high-quality, relevant, and strategic content, these subscriptions will enhance the strategic thinking and operational understanding of those serving in leadership roles and seeking to advance their Naval careers.

Deirdre Mills, Director, Greenwich Hospital, said,

“We support the Naval Review in its mission to deepen professional knowledge across the Royal Navy. By funding access for young officers and senior ratings, we are investing in the professional and intellectual development of tomorrow’s leaders. Initiatives like this ensure that personnel are not only operationally capable but strategically informed.”

Mike Beardall, Chief Executive Officer, The Naval Review, said,

“Providing complementary access to our journal and digital platform will ensure that a wide range of Royal Navy personnel can engage with critical thinking and professional dialogue. This funding helps us reach those at the early stages of their careers, encouraging lifelong learning and strategic development.”
