About the Role
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Community Fundraising Executive to join our ambitious and passionate team, who are driven to succeed to support our nation’s veterans and their families. In this role you will be responsible for acquiring and stewarding new Community Partners in your area to drive income. You will also support Area Fundraising in the team to steward key supporters where needed. You will be regionally based. This is a fantastic role if you have passion for fundraising with community supporters so that you can make a real impact to veterans and their families.
About the Team
You will be part of the Help for Heroes Community and Events Team, who work together to build support in the community to secure donations and build long time partnerships with community organisations / supporters and volunteers to deliver the annual Community Fundraising budget year on year. You will report to the National Senior Fundraising Manager and work collaboratively across the charity to drive income to support our veterans and their families.

Job Purpose
Build, develop and convert a strong Community Partner (CP) pipeline to secure donations and long-term partnerships to deliver the annual Community Fundraising (CF) budget.
Accountabilities
- Research and develop a strong CP pipeline to deliver fundraised income targets
- Create effective sell in plans to drive conversion from pipeline to an active Community Partner to reach minimum CP income KPI
- Develop cases for support in your area and deliver in a creative and effective way (both virtually and in person)
- Work collaboratively with all members of the CF team and other internal teams to deliver income targets and grow value of CP fundraised income in your area, through excellent supporter stewardship
- Forge excellent relationships with local communities and deliver first class stewardship to drive acquisition of new supporters
- Support Area Fundraising Manager (AFM) with stewardship of other identified key supporters
Main Responsibilities
- Act as fundraising point of contact in region for all prospective CP’s and other supporters as directed
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow value of fundraising in your area
- Develop and implement CF plans to deliver CP income budgets in accordance with fundraising strategy, supporting all key national initiatives.
- Maintain focus at all times on activities that deliver increased income in a profitable way
- Be a positive ambassador for Help for Heroes both internally and externally demonstrating a personal and professional style that enhances the reputation of the Charity and fosters respect.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams to ensure fundraising opportunities are maximised through cross functional working
- Pro-actively contribute to continuous improvement of the CP journey,
- Monitor and feedback on budget performance in your area, including variance reporting, keeping team informed of critical issues and subsequent contingency plans
- Maintain and deliver financial and other reporting as required
- Work within legal, compliance & other frameworks including internal processes as directed by NSFM to ensure safe and legal fundraising
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years fundraising experience with a proven track record in income generation or strong commercial sales experience
- Experience of developing and converting new partners both corporate, and community organisations by building/developing relationships across a range of supporters and delivering a high level of supporter satisfaction
- Experience of managing own workload effectively to meet deadlines
- Be able to communicate clearly and assertively with people at all levels, and to inspire and motivate different audiences through effective presentation skills, and ability to think creatively
- Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, often with changing and competing priorities and act accordingly
- Ability to assimilate and apply technical/legal information
- High standard of numeracy, literacy, and computer skills
- Able to keep thorough, accurate and up-to-date records
- Able to take responsibility for delivering against financial and other objectives and monitor and evaluate fundraising plans
Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Understanding of CRM (Client Relationship Management) systems
- Experience of developing and implementing sales or income-generating plans in support of a wider strategy
