Job Purpose

Analysing internal and external data to support key functions across the charity. Supervising a team in the creation of reactive and proactive reporting and develop insights which assist strategic planning across key functions of Recovery, Fundraising and Trading.

Accountabilities

  • Supervision and task allocation for Insight Function
  • Development, Design and Maintenance of specialist analytical tools
  • Analysing data from multi data sources to provide Management Information reporting across the charity and its subsidiaries
  • Delivery of Insights from data to enable evidenced based decision making
  • Responsible for ensuring that shared business logic is used in all produced reports to maintain consistency of information
  • Provide training and mentoring of both those in the insight team and across the organisation

Main Responsibilities

  • Day to day support and functional supervision of Insight Analysts
  • Develop proactive BI (Business Intelligence) reports to share team and data capability
  • Identify customer, supporter and beneficiary trends and share proactive insights
  • Influence the charity known data community with regards to use data and insight
  • Evaluate, identify and manage appropriate system enhancements for a variety of BI reporting and modelling tools
  • Manage internal insight processes and procedures to ensure high levels of data quality and consistency
  • Liaise with internal departments across all levels to understand their business objectives and provide analysis and insight to support the achievement of those objectives
  • Produce organisation wide MI reports by agreed deadlines
  • Resolve issues with reports and investigating discrepancies
  • Analysis of data. Undertake modelling, segmentation, profiling, clustering, and propensity modelling
  • Undertake trend analysis and formulate projection calculations
  • Expert knowledge of BI capabilities and deep familiarity with business trends identifying opportunities and threats
  • Provide internal and external systems management including access, support and supplier liaison
  • Advocate for data and data technics across the organisation

Essential Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualification, at grade C and above, including Maths
  • Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a data analyst/BI role
  • Advanced use of MS Excel and SQL
  • Domain knowledge of Charity Sector or of Recovery / Care Service Provision
  • An in-depth understanding of Relational Databases
  • Good technical knowledge of data and software packages
  • Experience specific analytical tools and programmes – FastStats and PowerBI
  • Ability to share technical knowledge and train users in analytical and visualisation packages
  • Ability to interpret departmental data needs across the business functions
  • Good planning, analytical, administrative and numeracy skills

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Team / colleague supervision
  • Statistical knowledge and experience of modelling
  • Database packages such as Dynamics CRM, Shopify, Donorfy, Eclipse and ESP package
  • Market Research Experience
  • Marketing Experience
  • Masters in Statistics / Mathematics
