London cabbie and dedicated Taxi Charity for Military Veterans volunteer, Daren Parr, is set to appear in the brand-new BBC One adventure series Destination X, hosted by comedian and presenter Rob Brydon.
Daren, no stranger to adventure, has already conquered Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru and even rowed across the Atlantic Ocean. Now, he’ll take on his next big challenge as one of the contestants in Destination X, a thrilling new travel competition that sees participants journey across spectacular and mysterious locations while competing in tests of endurance, navigation, and teamwork.
The first episode is scheduled to air on BBC 1 at 9pm on 30 July.
Daren, well known for his fundraising challenges for the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, said:
“This was unlike anything I’ve ever done before and that’s saying something! Rowing the Atlantic and climbing Meru and Kilimanjaro were hard and mentally challenging but this was on another level.
“It was an incredible journey, full of surprises and not knowing what to expect put me right out of my comfort zone. I’m so proud to have represented London cabbies and the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans on national television and I hope everyone enjoys the show. People are asking how I got on, but there will be no spoilers from me.”
