Military Wives Choirs – Music Trustee

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

Help shape the future of a small charity with big impact

We are the Military Wives Choirs. We connect nearly 2000 women in the military community and create a support network through the power of singing.

A community of 2000 members in over 70 choirs across the UK and internationally, we welcome all women whose lives are currently impacted by their military connection. Our network supports each other, and forms life-changing friendships built upon the joy of singing – and our ethos Sing, Share, Support embodies this.

Singing in a choir has been proven to increase wellbeing and improve mental and physical health. With no auditions and no pressure to perform, the Military Wives Choirs’ music-making makes a vital contribution to the choral landscape. Choirs undertake regular performances in their local communities and on high profile platforms, including our current 10th Anniversary Concert Series, led by Military Wives Choirs’ Artistic Director Hilary Davan Wetton.

We are seeking a Music Trustee to join our Board at an exciting time for the charity. With a new Director in post and a new strategy being developed, it’s a pivotal time to join us as we celebrate the successes of our first 10 years and look towards the next decade.

We are looking for someone with proven musical experience and expertise, and a passion for the power of music-making to increase wellbeing and create community.

In the first instance, please request a Trustee information pack via Stella Werth: swerth@militarywiveschoirs.org. To apply, send your CV and covering letter to Maggie Pedder, Chair of Trustees, at mpedder@militarywiveschoirs.org.

If you would like to discuss the Music Trustee role before applying, contact Richard Stringfellow at rstringfellow@militarywiveschoirs.org.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 20 October. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 26 October.

We support and value the importance of diversity in driving the best outcomes for our choir members and as an organisation with inclusivity at its heart, we welcome all applications.
