Read moreThe Call of Duty™ Endowment (“the Endowment”) is proud to announce the selection of RFEA – The Forces Employment Charity and Walking With The Wounded as the first UK recipients of the Call of Duty™ Endowment Seal of Distinction, the standard of excellence in the veterans’ employment sector. Winners each receive a $30,000 unrestricted grant and the opportunity to apply for additional funding, advice, and support.
“Meaningful employment is the single most important way to ensure that service members successfully transition back to civilian life,” said Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director of the Call of Duty Endowment.

Read moreRFEA The Forces Employment Charity will work with Team London, the Mayor of London’s volunteering programme, to deliver Forces for London. This new initiative is co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Mayor of London to increase the employment rate of veterans in London.
Many veterans struggle to find a job after their military service. By 2020, Forces for London will support 200 veterans who face such barriers, all of whom will receive mentoring support, with 190 completing volunteering, and more than 120 securing meaningful sustained employment, training or education.
Read moreRFEA is pleased to announce that, from the beginning of 2018, UNSWIS (Universities in Support of Wounded, Injured and Sick Service Personnel, Veterans, and their Families) will be incorporated within its existing portfolio of programmes to assist wounded, injured and sick (WIS) Service personnel, Veterans and family members make the transition from military life to civilian employment.
UNSWIS was founded at the University of East London in 2012 and currently consists of a network of 50 universities across the UK.
Read moreRFEA – The Forces Employment Charity is delighted to announce that Air Chief Marshal Sir Andrew Pulford GCB CBE, former Chief of the Air Staff, has become our new Vice-Patron.
Sir Andrew was commissioned into the Royal Air Force in 1977 and after flying training, joined No 72 Squadron, flying Wessex helicopters. During his distinguished career he flew over 5,000 hours on both Wessex and Chinook helicopters. In addition to the UK and Germany, he saw operational service in Northern Ireland, the Falkland Islands, Lebanon, the Balkans and the Gulf. He also completed exchange tours with the Royal Navy’s Commando Helicopter Force and the Royal Australian Air Force.

Read moreRFEA is pleased to partner with the Government’s See Potential campaign, focused on their Employing Military Veterans event this month which was introduced by Caroline Dineage, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions.
See Potential aims to help businesses fill skills gaps and diversify workforces by hiring people from disadvantaged groups including some military veterans. Sir Richard Branson, Deborah Meaden and Simon Cowell are See Potential ambassadors.
The Employing Military Veterans event was targeted at employers who do not currently recruit ex forces and showcased some of the employers who work closely with RFEA, demonstrating the value that they place on military experience within their workforce and how they operate their ex military recruitment.

The day will provide the opportunity to network with many distinguished organisations such as Barclays UK, XPO Logistics and FDM Group amongst others.
