Salary £31-37k depending on experience (inclusive of performance related bonus)

The Officer’s Association (OA) is a charity that assists Armed Forces Officers when they transition from military to civilian roles.  We are looking for an individual to manage programmes and develop partnerships with employers and other partners in order to enhance the employment services offered to former officers and to build employer awareness as part of the “Military is Good for Business “ campaign.

As a member of the wider Employment Team, you will need to work with initiative, autonomy and have excellent planning and organisational skills in order to meet demanding programme delivery targets that will be set.

Person Specification:

Qualifications / Skills /Knowledge:

  • Educated to degree level or good A-levels, ideally with membership of a professional body in a relevant field.
  • Strong, concise and accurate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable analytical and numeracy skills with an ability to identify trends and analyse results from projects and other activities.
  • Strong IT skills: proficient user of MS Office, customer relationship management software (ideally Salesforce) and webinar packages.
  • Good working knowledge of the UK Armed Forces highly desirable.

Experience:

  • At least two years’ experience of business development (or with transferable skills from a similar field) managing engagement with external organisations (or within large organisations) to manage the delivery of programmes of activity, ideally involving skills and knowledge transfer.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing effective, sustainable and productive relationships with senior managers of (or within) medium sized and large organisations.
  • Experience in recruitment or professional development management an advantage.

  • Confident, outgoing personality, with the ability to develop and build effective working partnerships with senior managers.
  • Motivated self starter with initiative and judgement to identify and develop opportunities.
  • Well organised with drive and ability to plan, manage and deliver effective programmes and activities.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues and partners to achieve common objectives.
