***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

£29690 – £31250  Full Time  37.5 hours per week

Location: The role will be based at our head office in Leicester with a blended approach to homeworking post Covid

About us

We are a Charity that exists to support the RAF community.  Our mission is to ensure that access to support is available to all those who need it and to prevent suffering, poverty, loneliness and isolation.  The Association, along with our subsidiary organisations are united in working together to achieve these aims.  We are proud to have supported over 85,000 members of the RAF community in the last year with both practical and emotional assistance.  Our focus for 2021 and beyond is to continue to deliver our existing services, in addition to developing new service initiatives that meet our organisational goals.

This is an exciting and varied opportunity to support our Senior Leadership Team to lead the continued growth of the RAF Association and its subsidiaries.

About the team

The Executive Assistant is the first point of contact both internally and externally for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), comprising of the Secretary General and Group CEO, the Chairman of Council (the Board of Trustees) and the President of the Association.  The role supports the continued growth and delivery for the Association and subsidiary organisations.  Culturally, we are an ethical organisation with a strong sense of purpose.  Our roadmap for the future not only focuses around the enhancement and delivery of new services, but in doing so utilising technology to achieve a “right first time” approach.  Our Secretary General and the wider SMT are passionate in championing the use of technology to allow us to be more effective and we would welcome a creative individual who is keen to consider “how” when supporting our technology agenda.

About you

The role involves many of the responsibilities you would expect to find in a senior level EA role, but additionally provides opportunity to get involved.  You will therefore need to be able to grasp the varying complexities that come with a high degree of governance across multiple subsidiary organisations in the Charity sector.  As a group, our governance structure is quite complex. Strong skills in Microsoft 365 are a prerequisite with specific strengths in Sharepoint, Teams and Huddle are extremely desirable and will benefit you greatly in being able to manage the different channels of governance related to our group structure.  A significant element of our Secretary General’s agenda, is building strong relationships with key influential stakeholders within the armed forces community and as a result, professionalism, discretion and high standards are essential.  However, whilst our operating model is quite traditional, our approach to change isn’t.  Our Secretary General is innovative in his approach and therefore an individual with a creative mind-set is likely to thrive in our environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person, but it is a senior EA role.  The successful person will have experience at board level supporting a highly governanced structure.
