Last year, we supported over 85,500 members of the RAF community who required practical, emotional or financial assistance.  We are there for those in need, during their darkest days, to help create a resilient, empowered and thriving RAF community.  The Association is facing increased demand for its welfare services from beneficiaries in need of unparalleled levels of support.

About the team

The Head of Casework (HOC) is a senior member of the welfare team and is responsible for the management and oversight of the case management for the Association. The HOC supports welfare staff, direct services, service coordination, education, policy and programme development and community relations. This is a great opportunity for a passionate individual who has the desire to use their health or social Care experience for a wider social purpose and as a result you will gain immense job satisfaction from seeing these worthwhile activities reach those who really need it as well as being part of a collaborative values led organisation.

This is a key role within the charity. The HOC will be highly visible and will have the opportunity to make an extremely positive impact on the RAF Association. Thus suitable candidates will not only have detailed knowledge and experience of current community care and other legislation within the field of social care, they will also have a demonstrable track record of working in a sensitive fast paced, dynamic organisation. About you

You will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a Health or Social Care profession and have a proven track record of leading welfare services. You will liaise with statutory agencies and services to ensure statutory obligations in relation to compliance are maintained as well as the ability to present and report in a coherent succinct style to a range of audiences on the Associations casework service. You will have evidence of being an experienced leader and manager who is highly competent with IT and Database skills. The post is demanding and requires a flexible approach to working hours and travel throughout the UK (post COVID) therefore a UK driving licence is an essential requirement for this role.
