The RAF Association exists to support the RAF community across a variety of services. We are a group of Charities with our main body being the RAF Association. In addition, we have several smaller subsidiary organisation’s, which are all linked to our strategic priorities to positively impact the lives of serving personnel, veterans and their families. We are proud to have supported over 81,000 members of the RAF community in the last year with both practical and emotional assistance, despite the many challenges presented to us because of the pandemic. Our focus for 2021 and beyond is to continue to deliver our existing services, in addition to developing new services that are both sustainable and effective.
About the role
Our welfare team are placed at the heart of what we do. The Head of Research is part of our extended management team, reporting to the Director of Welfare. You will work collaboratively with your peers, Directors and Trustees to continue to embed an evidence-based culture. This role is the Association’s subject matter expert, providing professional advice, expertise and leadership on all aspects of research and evaluation.
What we need from you
The successful candidate will have experience of working in partnership to develop and deliver impactful research projects. Experience of managing existing, and developing new external relationships is required, alongside proven experience of leading and developing team members.
You will be an experienced research professional with a passion for ensuring that research and data is at the heart of decision making. You will have a strong desire to voice your observations around service performance and identify key messages from your data to the wider organisation, to drive and inspire action. Overall we’re looking for someone who is values driven in their behaviours and committed to using their expertise to really make a difference.
