About the role

This is a newly created role working within our committed and dynamic finance team. In essence the role is to provide financial and management information and reports for all stakeholders through the provision of accurate and timely accounting information. The post holder will facilitate production of monthly performance reports and assist in budget preparation and roll-out across the Association as well as managing the robust maintenance of the nominal ledger with strict adherence to relevant accounting policies (Charities SORP) . As well as the usual responsibilities of a Management Accountant role, you will be hands on with other activities including ensuring accuracy of VAT records, budgets, forecasts, performance reporting and bid funding.

About you

Whilst a background in charity finance would be desirable, it is not essential however you must be a professionally Qualified Accountant or Finalist (ACA ACCA ACMA).  Ideally, you will have worked with a similar sized organisation (turnover £15m?) and have a proven track record in the production of complex and group annual statutory accounts and monthly financial performance reports in line with FRS102 and the Charities SORP.  Sound analytical skills and the ability to inform decision making along with an  understanding of investment performance reports and journal entries are integral to this role.  A high degree of communication skills are required as you assist the Association’s relationship with our field audit team as well as building relationships with authorities such as HMRC and external stakeholders
