RAF Association – Services Marketing Officer

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

£29690 – £31250 37.5 hours per week worked Monday – Friday

Based in Leicester with some agile home working

About us

The RAF Association exists to support the RAF community across a variety of services. We are proud to have supported over 81,000 members of the RAF community in the last year with both practical and emotional assistance, despite the many challenges presented to us because of the pandemic.  Our focus for 2021 and beyond is to continue to deliver our existing services, in addition to developing new services that are both sustainable and effective.

About the role

This is not a ‘usual’ marketing role!  This is a role where you will, in effect, be the glue that holds everything together when project managing marketing campaigns, incorporating various work streams and working with our experts in digital and communications. The role involves collaborating with a large number of stake holders across marketing and welfare departments. For example, you will be heavily involved with our volunteering team when putting together campaigns to recruit volunteers for welfare services such as telephone befrienders and caseworkers.  You will also be instrumental in driving awareness of our services for the RAF community, such as ‘Navigating Dementia’ and ‘Finding it Tough?’  Whilst no two days will be the same, you will be part of delivering something really special and feel the rewards of seeing this service touching the lives of those who really need it.

About you

Ideally you will have a marketing degree or be able to evidence a proven track record in this area.  People skills are integral to this post as you will be working with a diverse range of stakeholders and therefore you will have to have confidence to manage your colleague’s campaign expectations. Excellent project management skills are required to plan and execute a number of projects in parallel to meet tight timescales, budget constraints and deadlines.  An understanding of the welfare/charity sector would be desirable, though not essential. You must have the ability to understand target audiences and impart information and key messages clearly, concisely and convincingly. Overall if you are looking for a fresh challenge where you can use your skills and experience to support something with purpose within a values driven organisation, this role could be for you

Why join us?

You’ll be joining a fantastic engaged environment committed to really making a difference.  We offer a wide range of benefits including generous holiday entitlement – 36 days including bank holidays, as well as a range of other benefits including pension, EAP and 4 x times life cover.  Employee’s also have the opportunity to take part in a number of fundraising events as volunteers, for which there is additional leave provision of 1 day per year.

To apply, please send your CV and short covering letter telling us about a marketing campaign where you have instrumental to coordinating various elements to a successful conclusion.  Please send applications to jobs@rafa.org.uk
