Permanent, Full Time

Circa. £30,000 per year depending on experience, plus competitive benefits

Do you want to make a difference?

The RAF Benevolent Fund is the leading welfare charity for the RAF and last year we assisted over 40,000 Serving personnel, veterans and their families who benefited from our services. Working at the Fund is more than sitting at your desk and involves a mixture of office-based activities as well as supporting events and people in the South of England and sometimes beyond. In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of our RAF Family and every day you will make a difference, playing your part in positively changing the lives of others, and helping people in the RAF Family get through the toughest of times.

Do you want to play a part in what we do?

People are at the heart of what we do. Together we:

  • Help reduce social isolation and loneliness among veterans.
  • We support ill or injured men and women to have a safe place to call home, a home that meets their specific needs.
  • We fund youth services on stations to provide clubs and activities for the children of serving personnel who move every few years.
  • We provide grants to help with the cost of living. But this is just a few of the ways we help.

Working at the Fund means you can play your part in changing the lives of people who serve or have served in the RAF and supporting them to face life’s challenges.

It doesn’t matter how long someone served or when. If they were part of the RAF, they and their family are part of our RAF Family. We will always be here to support them when they need it most.

Join The RAF Family and play your part in making a difference.

We are looking for a new Regional Coordinator who will support the Area Director and wider Engagement Team to help reinforce the welfare support messages to serving personnel and corporate partners.

This is a really exciting role to engage with regional stakeholders at RAF stations, as well as maintaining a depth of administrative support and assisting at Fund events. No one day will be the same and this is one of the most rewarding roles within the charity.

If you have enthusiasm for the work of the RAF Benevolent Fund please consider applying.  There will be travel within your region, therefore a full driving licence is required and knowledge of the RAF or of military charities would also be beneficial.

A detailed job profile is available on the Fund’s website, rafbf.org. For an informal discussion about the role please contact Neil Tomlin, Area Director on 07885 466198.

While the role is based in Oxfordshire, it will require travel within the South of England and Wales and occasional overnight stays away from home, as well as occasionally working evenings and weekends at events when required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be DBS checked at the standard level and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

To apply, please send your CV together with a covering letter detailing why you believe you are suitable for this role and providing examples of how you meet the person specification to, Pete Thompson, Head of HR, RAF Benevolent Fund, 67 Portland Place, W1B 1AR, email HRservices@rafbf.org.uk.

The closing date for applications is Friday 29 September 2023 at 9.00am. Please note interviews will take place week commencing 02 October 2023.

Please note that due to the high number of applications expected, only candidates shortlisted for interview will be notified. Previous applicants will not need to submit a further application.
