RAF Families Federation – Operations and Coordination Lead

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

Military Co-working Network (MCN) Pilot Project

£29690 – £31250 Pro rata for 25 hours per week

Fixed Term contract for 12 months

Location negotiable: HQ is at RAF Wittering, however home working arrangements are in place

About the Military Co-working Network Project

Working in partnership with the Royal Air Forces Association, in April 2020 the Military Co-working Network received funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund to run an independently evaluated, 24-month pilot project across military bases in the UK and overseas.  The aim of the pilot is to assess the impact of military co-working on military partners, and allow the Ministry of Defence and single Services to understand the potential benefits, and how future support should be taken forward.

You will be joining the project at an exciting time – we are recruiting now to ensure a step change in capacity to manage this work, and there is a small and passionate team looking forward to working with you.  We need flexible, approachable and committed leads, who share our vision of removing disadvantage for military families.  We can’t wait to meet you!

About the role

The Operations and Coordination Lead provides the glue which holds the MCN Project team together; coordinating day to day operations of the network and ensuring the project team works together to deliver the pilot project plan.  They track KPIs and report on progress to the MCN Management team.  The lead will work closely with and support the Hub Liaison Leads to ensure our facilities are properly managed and maintained, through good relationships with key facilities staff at each location. They are also responsible for ensuring relevant policies are adhered to, as well as ensuring that a range of relevant systems are updated that support the team in achieving the project plan – and Hub users in booking desks.

This is a key role within the MCN Project Delivery Team.  The Operations and Coordination Lead will work closely with all the other members of the team to deliver their objectives. You will be comfortable working at pace, and will bring a methodical approach and an attention to detail.  You will join a committed and passionate team who will support you in your role.

About you

Whilst a formal qualification in project management would be desirable, it is not essential. If you can evidence at least two years project management experience  – which could be in a range of fields – along with some technical ‘hands on’ knowledge in fields  such as operations, logistics, facilities management or IT systems management then this could be just right for you.

As the Operations and Coordination Lead, you will have responsibilities that include coordinating the work of the wider team ensuring project progress is to plan, as well as managing relationships with base commanders and other key stakeholders.

A UK driving license is essential for this role as you will be able to travel occasionally to visit the hubs and people that you support.

Why join us?

You’ll be joining a fantastic engaged environment committed to really making a difference.  We offer a wide range of benefits including generous holiday entitlement – 36 days including bank holidays, as well as a range of other benefits including pension, Employee Assistance Programme and 4 times life cover.  Employee’s also have the opportunity to take part in a number of fundraising events as volunteers, for which there is additional leave provision of 1 day per year.
