At the Royal Air Forces Association, we understand that providing outstanding childcare is really important to our serving RAF communities. RAFA Kidz is a not-for-profit trading subsidiary of the RAF Association and is operated as a socially responsible business. This means RAFA Kidz can focus on providing the best possible service rather than on making commercial profit.
We have an opportunity for an experienced, inspiring and influential Nursery Manager for our setting based at RAF Digby. The nursery is very popular with circa 170 children and 30 passionate and committed staff who ensure the nursery is a fun, vibrant, educational and stimulating environment for children to play and learn. We support the local Royal Air Force community by providing a vital childcare service which also includes a before and after school provision for older children.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a similar sized setting with the ability to develop a well-qualified and experienced team able to meet and exceed all relevant standards. You will facilitate inspections by regulatory bodies and implement any recommendations along with supporting pre-school staff in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure that provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the local EYDCP in relation to nursery education grant funding for three and four- year- olds. A minimum Level 3 qualification in Children and Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent) is essential for this role along with a current Paediatric First Aid (full) certificate.
The role involves many of the responsibilities you would expect to find in a Nursery Manager role but additionally provides opportunity to get involved. We welcome any ideas and suggestions which could improve not just the Digby nursery, but may also benefit our other settings. Overall we are looking for a passionate individual who has the desire to use their childcare and leadership experience for a wider social purpose and as a result you will gain immense job satisfaction from seeing these worthwhile activities reach those who really need it as well as being part of a collaborative values led organisation.
We are happy to answer any questions so please feel free to email Pam Cave, our Nursery General Manager, who can then arrange to call you at a convenient time email@example.com
This post requires a satisfactory, enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check on appointment and every three years thereafter.
