RAFBF – Welfare Benefits Executive

Salary: circa £39,000 plus benefits.
Contract: 2 year fixed-term post.

The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund is the RAF’s leading welfare charity. The Welfare Directorate is responsible for understanding and meeting the social welfare needs of those in the RAF Family, from those currently serving in the RAF and their families through to veterans of all ages.

The Individual Grants Team facilitates the provision of help and support for serving and veteran RAF personnel and their eligible dependants who are in need of assistance as a result of issues such as financial hardship, disability or sickness.

We are seeking a compassionate and highly organised individual to work within the Welfare Benefits Team. You will have specific responsibility for identifying benefit entitlements and providing detailed and accurate advice, information and support to serving and former members of the RAF as well as their partners and dependent children.

The successful candidate will need to have current significant experience of delivering specialist welfare benefits advice and assistance to individuals. An articulate communicator with excellent IT skills suited to working in a paperless environment, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to people of all ages, especially older beneficiaries, in a manner which is conducive to relieving stresses and concerns by giving sound and impartial information, guidance and assistance.
