37 hours per week
Salary: £26-27,000 per annum dependent upon experience
RBLI are looking for a motivated individual with a strong background in employer engagement and who has excellent communication skills.
Main Purpose of the Job:
The role is key to further developing the RBLI Lifeworks employment programme primarily working in the south of England with additional focus to the North of England as the role develops. The incumbent will act as the link and enabler in establishing, developing, and maintaining a network of employment opportunities with key stakeholders to maximise the reach of veteran support through the Lifeworks programme.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- To build a network of companies to which we can refer Lifeworks delegates for employment opportunities.
- Work with Head of Lifeworks to develop the employment arm of the Lifeworks programme to maximise employment outcomes in line with KPI’s
- To establish commercial leads to generate additional opportunities for funding streams.
- To work with other RBLI Divisions to develop opportunities for additional delivery of RBLI products and services in support of delivering Social Value and the Armed Forces Covenant.
- To work with the wider team to ensure the best possible delegate experience
- To be prepared to undertake additional representational duties in support of RBLI’s activities as agreed with Head of Lifeworks/MODVA.
- Compiling a database of target employers to contact with a view to developing work placement opportunities
- Negotiating with employers to secure work placement opportunities
- Developing business opportunities with employers by supporting them with staffing and training needs analysis and promoting the benefits of recruiting veterans and offering work placement opportunities
- Ensuring that the Lifeworks programme always has a bank of appropriate work placements available to meet Lifeworks participant need.

- Strong communication skills both written and oral and ability to use database platforms
- Reliable, well organised and with an ability to work to a specified time frame
- Structured and organised
- Able to work as part of the Lifework’s team and equally confident working alone
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- Sound understanding of the Military Charity sector
- Good understanding of the Armed forces covenants and its implementation.
- Evidence of previous employer engagement experience
- Proven experience of managing stakeholders at senior levels
- Full Clean Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Understanding of the key elements of the Armed Forces Covenant and its implementation
- Thorough understanding of issues affecting veterans
- Experience of working in a commercial environment
- Experience of working in the charity sector
