Full time, fixed term contract, based in Aylesford, Kent
37 hours per week
Salary: £24,000 per annum
Main Purpose of the Role:
To work with the wider employment teams to generate referrals to the Building Better Opportunities project ensuring eligibility criteria is evidenced. Manage effective marketing, attending job fairs, social prescribing and networking events along with online activities to build and increase participant numbers.
The role will involve travel within southeast areas and lone working.
Overview of the Role & Team:
Participant Recruiter is responsible for creating and maintaining effective relationships with referral organisations, initial engagement with the participant. The Participant Recruiter will work alongside Progression Coaches to meet the project goals.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Encourage and promote partnership working:
Liaise with a range of statutory, voluntary, and private sector agencies and organisations to increase referrals to the project. Seek new referral sources through marketing the project whilst building a pipeline of new participants on to the project.
Work in partnership to identify potential clients:
Build and maintain effective working relationships with appropriate referral agencies, organisations and relevant, to identify participants who are eligible for the project.
Your work would also include:
- Keeping up to date with labour market information
- Keeping informed about the issues and policies that impact on people
- Giving talks to potential referrers and participants and leading discussions
- Working closely with the Progression Coaches to ensure a smooth transition of the referral and enrolment process.
- Updating records and completing other administration tasks.
- Assisting potential clients to engage with the project and explain what the service can provide
- Running Job clubs and other group activities
- Delivering employability skills to individuals and or groups of participants
- Recognise and work appropriately within challenging situations
- Maintain appropriate administrative and recording systems.
- Work with others to contribute to the delivery of projects so that they are on time, to target and within prescribed budgets
- Maintain an accurate caseload management sheet at all times
- Meet regularly with the Deputy Project Manager or other designated supervisor for supervision and project reviews and to take responsibility to follow through agreed areas of work.
- The varied nature of the role may require flexibility to undertake other appropriate and relevant duties as they occur.
- Attend team briefs, meetings as required
- Promote and comply with RBLI policies and procedural requirements
Based in Aylesford travel throughout the South East and to work from outreach centres as required.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good understanding of data protection requirements
- Clear understanding of client confidentiality
- Good understanding and experience of Excel and Word
- Accustomed to networking, marketing presenting and engaging online and in person at events whilst being able to set up referral paths.
- An understanding of the issues/barriers faced by people with long term health issues and disabilities (including learning disabilities)
- Experience working with individuals who are facing barriers to work and learning or engaging with their community
- Experience of working to targets, goal setting and delivering a service that is person centred.
- To be able to travel to various locations in and around South East area easily and economically
- Be able to undergo enhanced DBS checks
- A level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance
- Experience of lone working policies and practice
