We are now looking for a dynamic Digital Communications Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in helping us amplify our message and reach a wider audience. By managing our social media presence, creating engaging content, and executing effective digital marketing strategies, you will play a key role in promoting our mission and the impact of our work.

Role Overview:

As a Digital Communications Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying the voice of RMA – The Royal Marines Charity. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and enhance our presence across all social media platforms, ensuring that our message reaches and resonates with our audience.

You will be tasked with creating engaging and impactful content that not only informs but also inspires and mobilises our community. This includes writing posts, designing graphics, and producing videos that highlight our initiatives, events, and the stories of those we support.

Executing digital marketing strategies will be a key part of your role. You will plan and implement campaigns that drive engagement, increase our online visibility, and attract new supporters. This involves using various digital tools and platforms to reach our target audience effectively.

Data analysis is crucial to understanding the success of our campaigns. You will regularly analyse metrics and feedback to measure the effectiveness of our social media and marketing efforts. This data will help you refine our strategies and ensure we are meeting our communication goals.

Supporting events is another important aspect of your role. You will assist in the planning and execution of events, ensuring that they are well-promoted and that our presence is strong both online and offline. This includes posting updates and capturing key moments to share with our audience.

Finally, you will ensure that all communications align with our brand and mission. This means maintaining a consistent voice and message across all platforms, proofreading and editing content for accuracy, and collaborating with team members to develop cohesive communication strategies.

In summary, as a Digital Communications Officer, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to connect with and support the Royal Marines family, using your skills in social media, content creation, and digital marketing to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage content for all social media platforms.
  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns.
  • Analyse data to track the performance of social media and marketing efforts.
  • Support and plan the communication schedule for events.
  • Proofread and edit communications to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement communication strategies.
  • Maintain an understanding of the charity sector and its unique communication needs.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in social media management and content creation.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and data analysis.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Familiarity with the charity sector and its communication strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A love of tech with a keen interest in video and photography.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • An outgoing personality, eager to engage with all aspects of the communications team.
  • Willingness to support other internal teams.
  • Knowledge of social media and experience using Microsoft 365 programmes.
