Salary: £27,556(*)-£29,007pa (*) starting salary
Hours Of Work: Full Time
Location: In agreement with Line Manager at an RAF Association premises

The Royal Air Forces Association is the charity that supports the RAF family. From an injured airman fighting to get back on his feet, to a child missing a parent working away from home, to a WWII veteran in need of companionship, the Association is here to help.

The Branch Support Officer (BSO) is the first point of contact for all branches and branch clubs and responsible for providing advice, guidance and support to branches throughout the Midlands and North/Mid wales area. The post holder will shape the continuing development of branch and branch club officers and committee members and their understanding of management responsibilities in accordance with the aims and objects of the Association, the Administrative Handbook and charity legislation, relevant legislation and regulations.  The BSO will support branches to recruit members and fundraise, provide practical support and guidance to branch and branch club officers in order to develop sustainable and successful branches.  The BSO will also develop strong relationships between branches and RAF Stations including, University Air Squadrons, Reserve and uniformed youth organisations.

Do you have previous and recent RAF service with experience of management and of ceremonial events? We are looking for an excellent communicator who is experienced at making good presentations mixing comfortably with people at all levels, is proactive and able to resolve issues independently.

Considerable travel throughout the Midlands and North/Mid Wales is required. A driving licence will be required for this position, you should be prepared to drive our branded vehicle and be fit to undertake light manual handling. You will also need to be flexible about your working hours as some evening and weekend working is required on occasions as this is when our branches are most active with their meetings and events.
